What is Corld ?
CORLD is the Infrastructure lead for Learning Disabilities in Richmond (formerly known as the Key Strategic Organisation) and aims to lead, support and develop the Learning Disabilities sector in line with key priorities. CORLD aims to provide clear and up to date information, advice and guidance to individuals with learning disabilities, carers and, in particular, organisations in the independent and voluntary sectors, with an emphasis on organisational development.
CORLD seeks to work in partnership with the statutory services and other organisations to ensure their awareness of current issues and to improve services, activities and opportunities within the sector, especially by encouraging joint working initiatives and maximising use of limited resources.
CORLD aims to support each group through a range of activities and information that assist the sector generally. One of these activities is to arrange strategic meetings as and when required, so as to inform members of current issues locally and nationally, as well as enabling CORLD to hear the issues, concerns and priorities raised by members and to take action upon them.
CORLD’s Chief Executive Officer attends strategic meetings within the borough and ensures that comments from the learning disabilities field are represented at the Partnership Board and Joint Commissioning Group.
CORLD provides an information and discussion forum approximately every six weeks supporting the sector to develop responses and problem solve key areas of need in partnership.
